During the month of June we worked on an amazing fashion film and photo shoot and it was our first fashion shoot as the Jay_ThePhotographers team!

This shoot showcased best friends who accept each other completely. They are so comfortable with who they are around each other that they can unapologetically just be. They experience life in the same euphoric way and they can be their vulnerable selves with no shame.

The Jay_ThePhotographers team controlled styling, creative direction, art direction, photography and videography! And what a success that turned out to be! We now offer all these services on our website and this shoot shows off our capabilities in this regard.

We had an amazing experience from the very first step of choosing models. The first people that came to mind for this creative project were Jaye and Kaydee and when they immediately accepted our offer to shoot; we knew this was going to be epic.

Oh So Retro is one of our favourite vintage stores in Cape Town, so approaching this store was an obvious choice. Karen, the owner, is the best person to work with and she allowed for our creative flare to take control and choose any garments for styling purposes.

Vintage & The City was a second store which we also sourced clothing from. Jaye (one of our models) actually works here. So this store was too, an obvious choice.Their vintage apparel is old school and so fun.

Locations included both Franky's Diner in Sea Point and the Daddy Long Legs Art Hotel in Cape Town and these places were so accommodating. The decor and overall feel of these places ensured that our shoot was fashion heaven!

Fareedah Davis did the make-up for the scene called "The Party". The 'pride look' which she showed us as an option for the scene we had in mind, had us in awe. We knew that the make-up would take the fashion looks to a whole other level. AND WOW, Her work blew us away. The models loved her work! Clothing and styling worked perfectly with the make-up. Fareedah and Jay_ThePhotographers have a bright future together!

Early cold winter mornings were on the agenda every week when we shot but in the end it was all worth it. Our entire team and models were amazing and the end result was stunning (we're allowed to say this because it's true). We had so much fun shooting and friendships were surely formed.

We again want to thank every person who made this shoot possible.

We hope you all like the photos and the fashion film!
